Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic and olive oil. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- Spaghetti (200g)
- Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, thinly sliced)
- Red pepper flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Fresh parsley (a handful, chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and cook for an additional minute.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
5. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
6. Serve warm, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
