Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 100ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red chili flakes to the skillet and stir for another 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet, adding some reserved pasta water to help the sauce adhere to the pasta. Stir well to combine.
5. Season with salt to taste and continue to toss until the spaghetti is well coated in the garlic oil.
6. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
7. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Spaghetti Aglio e Olio!
