Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until the garlic is golden and fragrant (about 2-3 minutes). Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the pan, along with the reserved pasta water. Toss everything together until the spaghetti is well coated in the garlic oil.
4. Season with salt to taste, and toss in the chopped parsley.
5. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
