Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish with garlic, olive oil, and a hint of red pepper. Preparation time: 20 minutes
Serving size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 100ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and sauté for another 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss well to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to help coat the spaghetti.
7. Season with salt to taste.
8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
