Ingredients:
- Spaghetti (200g)
- Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, thinly sliced)
- Red pepper flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Parsley (fresh, chopped, ¼ cup)
- Salt (to taste)
- Parmesan cheese (grated, for serving, optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve about ½ cup of pasta water.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
4. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
5. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
