Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A simple, classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
5. Drain the spaghetti and reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil.
6. Toss the spaghetti in the oil, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to help emulsify the sauce.
7. Season with salt to taste.
8. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired.
9. Serve immediately.
