Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A simple and classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for another minute.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
