A classic Italian dish featuring spaghetti tossed in a simple garlic and olive oil sauce.

Ingredients:
- Spaghetti - 200g
- Olive oil - 4 tablespoons
- Garlic - 4 cloves, thinly sliced
- Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Parmesan cheese - for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 2 minutes until the garlic is golden and fragrant.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing well to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
4. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
5. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
