Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish that's quick to make, flavorful, and perfect for a weeknight dinner. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti - 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti. 2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Cook until the garlic is golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and cook for another minute.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet and mix well to coat the pasta with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with Parmesan cheese if desired.
