A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until golden and fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for another 30 seconds.
4. Toss the cooked spaghetti into the skillet, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the pasta is well coated.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix in chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
