A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Perfect for a quick and flavorful meal. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine with the garlic and oil.
7. If the pasta seems dry, gradually add some reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
8. Season with salt to taste.
9. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
