Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and a hint of chili.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.
5. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti directly to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the pasta in the oil.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
8. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
9. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
