Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2
Ingredients:
- Spaghetti (200g)
- Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, thinly sliced)
- Red chili flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Parsley (fresh, chopped, 2 tablespoons)
- Salt (to taste)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for another minute.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet. Toss well to coat the pasta in the oil and garlic mixture.
5. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
6. Season with salt and mix in the chopped parsley.
7. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
