Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti - 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. 2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until it turns golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for an additional minute.
5. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water and then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the pasta, adding reserved pasta water as needed to help combine.
7. Season with salt to taste and mix in the chopped parsley.
8. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
