Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until it turns golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for another minute.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss it in the garlic oil mixture.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
8. Season with salt and toss well.
9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
