Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti - 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. 2. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
3. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
4. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, and sauté until the garlic is golden brown, about 2 minutes.
5. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing it with the garlic oil.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
8. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese, if desired.
9. Serve immediately and enjoy!
