Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and a hint of chili. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté until the garlic is golden, being careful not to burn it.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the spaghetti evenly.
6. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
7. Season with salt to taste.
8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
