Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and stir for about 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing well to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta is too dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
