A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden and fragrant but not burnt, about 2 minutes.
4. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
7. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
8. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
