A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Add the red chili flakes to the skillet and stir for 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing it with the garlic and chili oil.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to achieve your desired consistency.
8. Season with salt to taste and toss in some chopped parsley.
9. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
