Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until fragrant and golden, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet, adding a bit of the reserved pasta water to create a sauce. Mix well to combine.
5. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
