Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the pan and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
8. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh parsley.
9. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
