Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and a hint of chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- Spaghetti (200g)
- Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, thinly sliced)
- Red chili flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Fresh parsley (2 tablespoons, chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red chili flakes to the skillet. Sauté until the garlic is golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve a cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and oil. Toss well to coat.
6. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to achieve your desired consistency.
7. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
8. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
