Spaghetti Aglio e Olio (Serves 4, Preparation Time: 20 minutes)
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and a hint of chili for a delightful kick.Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
