A classic onion steak featuring juicy beef fillets paired with delicious sautéed onions and flavorful sides. A perfect retro dish!Preparation Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:
- 300-400 g beef fillet (2 steaks)- Butter and cooking oil
- Salt and white pepper to taste
- 3 large onions (sliced into 0.5 cm rings)
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- ¼ beef stock cube, crumbled
- 0.5 dl water (2 parts)
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and white pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Start by preparing the onions. Peel the onions and slice them into 0.5 cm rings.2. Heat butter and cooking oil in a frying pan. Sauté the onions until golden brown.
3. Add 0.5 dl of water and crumble in the beef stock cube; simmer for a moment.
4. Stir in balsamic vinegar, thyme, and the remaining 0.5 dl of water. Let the onions simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
5. Season the onions with salt and white pepper to taste.
6. Cook the seasoned fillets in a hot pan with a mix of butter and cooking oil to your desired doneness. Season with salt and white pepper.
7. Place the cooked steaks on top of the sautéed onions.
8. Serve the onion steaks with potatoes, carrots, Russian pickles, sour cream, and honey.
