A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish with garlic and olive oil.

Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden but not burnt.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine with the garlic and oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
5. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
