Ingredients

- 2 bell peppers
- 3 tomatoes
- 1 onion
- Jalapeños to taste
- 1 can (chili) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Cilantro to taste
- Cumin to taste
- Oregano to taste
- Sugar to taste
- Salt to taste
- A splash of oil

Instructions

1. Dice the bell peppers, tomatoes, and onion into small cubes.
2. Add finely chopped jalapeños if desired.
3. Heat a splash of oil in a pan over medium heat.
4. Add the diced ingredients to the pan and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, until the onion is soft.
5. Stir in the can of crushed tomatoes, chili powder, cilantro, cumin, oregano, sugar, and salt.
6. Mix well and let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
7. Taste and adjust spices if needed.
Let the sauce cool slightly before serving.
