A vibrant and zesty fresh salsa perfect for dipping or as a topping.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 kg tomatoes (any variety)
- 1 green bell pepper (red is also fine)
- 1 medium sweet onion
- 1/2 bunch fresh cilantro
- 1 lime (juiced)
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1-2 chilies (optional)
Instructions:
1. Dice the tomatoes into small cubes.
2. Remove the seeds from the green bell pepper and chop it into small pieces.
3. Peel and finely chop the sweet onion.
4. Chop the fresh cilantro.
5. Halve the chilies, remove seeds if you prefer less heat, and finely chop them.
6. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl.
7. Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture.
8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
9. Let the salsa chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving.
10. Serve the fresh salsa with tortilla chips or as a topping for grilled meats.
