Deliciously marinated, slow-cooked pork shank that guarantees a tender and juicy bite. Preparation Time: 4 hours
Serving Size: 6-8 people
Ingredients:
- 1.5 kg pork shank
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp honey
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp rosemary
- 1 tsp thyme
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix together the marinade ingredients: olive oil, honey, crushed garlic, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, salt, black pepper, paprika, rosemary, and thyme.
2. Rub the marinade all over the pork shank to ensure it absorbs into the meat. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
3. Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
4. Place the marinated pork shank in an oven-safe dish and cover with foil.
5. Roast the pork shank in the oven for about 3 hours or until the meat is tender. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes to allow the surface to become a beautiful golden brown.
6. Let the shank rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables.
