A simple and tasty spaghetti dish with tomato sauce, perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients:

- 400 g spaghetti
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 400 g can of crushed tomatoes
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Fresh basil (for garnish)
- Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions:

1. Cook the spaghetti in salted water according to the package instructions. Drain and reserve a little pasta water.
2. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft.
3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, black pepper, and oregano. Mix well and let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
5. Combine the cooked spaghetti with the sauce. If needed, add a little reserved pasta water to ensure the sauce coats the spaghetti evenly.
6. Serve the dish garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
