Delicious and juicy pulled pork, perfect for sandwiches or as a side dish. The preparation time is long, but the effort is rewarded with a mouthwatering result. Preparation Time: 7 hours
Serving Size: 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
- 800-1000 g pork shoulder
- 3 tbsp paprika powder
- 2 tbsp salt
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp or more chili flakes
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp thyme
- ½-1 dl honey
- ½-1 dl red wine vinegar
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- Water
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients (except the meat and water).
2. Cut the pork shoulder into a couple of pieces for easier handling.
3. Place the meat pieces in a baking dish and pour the spice mixture over them. Make sure to coat the meat well with the mixture.
4. Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F) and place the dish inside.
5. After about an hour, add some water and allow the meat to continue cooking. Turn the meat over a few times during cooking.
6. Cook the meat for a total of about 7 hours, until it is tender enough to pull apart with a fork.
7. Finally, mix the pulled meat with the spices and serve it in sandwiches, with potatoes, or in fajitas.
