A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish. Preparation time: 20 minutes
Serving size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix well to coat the spaghetti in the oil and garlic.
6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
