A delicious braised reindeer dish that captivates with its flavor. This recipe requires some time, but the result is worth it.

Ingredients

- 1 kg reindeer meat
- 3 tbsp fat
- 2 dl water
- 1 ½ tsp salt

Instructions

1. Melt the fat in a large pot.
2. Add the reindeer meat in small batches and brown it well.
3. Once all the meat is browned, add water and salt.
4. Reduce the heat and let it simmer covered for 10-30 minutes or transfer the pot to the oven.
5. Braise in the oven at 125°C (257°F) for about 2-3 hours.
6. Serve with mashed potatoes.

Mashed Potatoes

- 700 g peeled floury potatoes
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2-3 onions
- 2 dl milk
- 1-2 tsp salt
1. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender.
2. Sauté the chopped onions in butter until soft, then add the milk and bring to a boil.
3. Mash the cooked potatoes and mix in the onion milk mixture. Stir well and season with salt.
