A delicious and spicy tandoori chicken pita filled with fresh vegetables and a creamy sauce. Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Serving Size: 6 pitas
Ingredients:
- 450 g boneless chicken breast, sliced
- 1 tsp tandoori spice mix
- 1 tsp salt
- 6 pita breads, store-bought or homemade
Toppings:
- 400 g iceberg lettuce, shredded
- 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 mozzarella ball, diced (light)
Sauce:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1 mm black pepper
- 1.5 tsp soy sauce
- Salt, to taste
Instructions:
1. Season the sliced chicken with tandoori spice mix and salt. Allow it to marinate for about 30 minutes.
2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
3. Prepare the sauce by mixing sour cream, oregano, black pepper, and soy sauce. Add salt to taste.
4. Cut the pita breads in half and warm them slightly in the oven or on a skillet.
5. Assemble the pitas: fill the warmed pita halves with iceberg lettuce, cooked chicken, red onion slices, bell pepper strips, and diced mozzarella.
6. Drizzle the sauce over the fillings and serve immediately.
