Serving Size: 6-8 pita breads
Ingredients:
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 teaspoons dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- A pinch of baking powder
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix together the dry yeast, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
2. Add the flour and stir well.
3. Pour in the warm water and knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
4. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
5. Divide the dough into 6-8 pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Flatten each ball into a round shape.
6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the pita breads for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and puffed up.
