Monkey Bread – Kotoisa Nyhtöpulla

A delicious and easy-to-make sweet bread reminiscent of cinnamon rolls, perfect for celebrations or coffee breaks! Preparation Time: 1 hour (including rising)
Serving Size: 8-10 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 2 dl milk
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 packet dry yeast (about 11 g)
- 1/2 dl butter (melted)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg
For the Sauce:
- 100 g butter (melted)
- 1 dl sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
Instructions:
1. Warm the milk until lukewarm and mix in the sugar and dry yeast. Let it rise for about 10 minutes.
2. In a bowl, add the melted butter, egg, salt, and all-purpose flour. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
3. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 30-40 minutes, until doubled in size.
4. Once the dough has risen, pour it onto a surface and shape it into small balls.
5. Dip the balls in melted butter and then roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
6. Place the balls tightly together in a baking dish.
7. Allow the balls to rise again for about 15-20 minutes.
8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 25-30 minutes, until golden brown on top.
9. Let cool for a moment before serving.
