Farinata is a delicious and easy-to-make Italian bread that is perfect for picnics and festive occasions. This gluten-free pancake is full of flavor and is an ideal choice for spring celebrations. Preparation Time: 15 minutes + 30 minutes baking time
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 250 g chickpea flour
- 750 ml water
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- Black pepper to taste
- Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, combine chickpea flour and salt. Gradually add water while stirring until the batter is smooth.
2. Let the batter rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
3. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
4. Add olive oil to the batter and mix well. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish with olive oil.
5. Bake in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and crispy.
6. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Optionally, sprinkle fresh herbs on top.
