A hearty cabbage casserole that's a perfect option for a weekday dinner. It's easy to make and loved by the whole family! Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 head of cabbage
- 400 g ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 carrots
- 400 g crushed tomatoes
- 1 dl rice
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
- 2 dl grated cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. Finely chop the onion and garlic. Peel and grate the carrots.
3. Heat the olive oil in a pan. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté for 5 minutes.
4. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned. Season with salt, black pepper, and oregano.
5. Stir in the grated carrots, crushed tomatoes, and rice. Let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
6. Chop the cabbage and place it in a baking dish. Pour the meat mixture over the cabbage.
7. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
8. Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown.
9. Let it cool for a moment before serving.
