Description: A hearty and flavorful baked dish combining lamb and beef with pasta, seasoned vegetables, and topped with fresh tomatoes and cheese. Preparation Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Serving Size: 6 servings
Ingredients:
- 400 g ground lamb
- 400 g ground beef
- 1 small red onion, chopped
- ½ carrot, grated
- 1 celery stalk, chopped
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp rosemary
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- Black pepper, to taste
- 7 dl dark macaroni (cooked al dente according to package instructions)
- About 6 dl water (half of the pasta cooking liquid)
- 1 chicken stock cube
- 3 eggs
For the topping:
- 3-4 tomatoes, sliced
- Grated cheese
Instructions:
1. Chop the onion, carrot, and celery into small pieces. Sauté them with the ground meats in a pan, breaking up the meat as it cooks.
2. Season the mixture with thyme, rosemary, paprika, salt, and pepper, and cook for a few more minutes.
3. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions.
4. In a bowl, take some of the pasta cooking liquid and dissolve the stock cube in it. Add cool water. Beat the eggs one at a time into the meat broth.
5. Drain the macaroni and mix it with the meat mixture. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and drizzle the egg-broth over it.
6. Arrange the tomato slices on top and sprinkle with grated cheese.
7. Bake in a preheated convection oven at 200°C (390°F) for about 1 hour, depending on the dish shape.
8. Let the dish rest for a few minutes after baking before serving.
