A festive spiced cider perfect for celebrating the holiday season. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 8 servings
Ingredients:
- 150 g dark brown sugar per liter of juice
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 handful of white tea leaves
- 1 kg apples (with skin)
- 200 ml lemon and lime juice combined
- 50 g brown sugar per liter of juice
- 1 teaspoon ascorbic acid (preservative to prevent browning of fruit)
- 3 kg red apples (Red Delicious, Jonagold & Fuji)
- 300 ml grenadine
Instructions:
1. Wash and peel the apples. Cut them into small pieces.
2. Place the apple pieces, dark brown sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, ascorbic acid, and tea leaves in a large pot.
3. Add the lemon and lime juice to the pot.
4. Pour in 1-2 liters of water and mix well.
5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat. Let it simmer on low heat for about 30-45 minutes.
6. Add the grenadine to the mixture and stir.
7. Strain the finished cider into bottles and let it cool before serving.
8. Enjoy the festive cider warm or cold!
