A delicious and warming pork stew perfect for the holiday season, captivating with its flavors and aromas. Preparation time is about 2 hours, and this recipe serves 6-8.
Ingredients:
- 600 g pork, cubed
- 1 l rutabaga, cubed
- 4 onions, halved
- 10 cloves garlic, whole
- 1.5 l water
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1.5 dl all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp paprika powder
- 2 tbsp curry powder
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp thyme
- 2 tbsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp allspice
Instructions:
1. Heat the butter in a large pot or Dutch oven. Add the pork cubes and sauté until golden brown.
2. Add the halved onions and whole garlic cloves, and sauté until the onions are soft.
3. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well to coat the meat.
4. Add the cubed rutabaga, water, and honey. Mix thoroughly.
5. Season the mixture with paprika powder, curry powder, salt, cloves, cinnamon, thyme, black pepper, and allspice. Stir all ingredients well.
6. Allow the stew to simmer over low heat for about 1.5 hours, until the meat and rutabaga are fully cooked.
7. Serve the stew warm, ideally with fresh bread.
