Serving Size: 6 servings
Ingredients:
- 800 g potatoes
- 500 g cabbage
- 2 dl cream
- 2 dl milk
- 1 onion
- 2 dl ground meat (optional)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
2. Finely chop the onion and cabbage.
3. Heat the butter in a pan and sauté the onion until translucent, then add the cabbage and cook until softened.
4. If using ground meat, cook it separately and then mix it with the cabbage.
5. Grease a baking dish and layer the potatoes, cabbage mixture, and season with salt, pepper, and thyme.
6. Pour the cream and milk evenly over the layers.
7. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 200°C (392°F) for about 1 hour.
8. Remove the foil and bake for another 20-30 minutes until the top is beautifully golden brown.
9. Allow the casserole to rest before serving.
