Delicious and creamy potato dish perfect as a side for various main courses.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 800 g potatoes
- 2 dl heavy cream
- 1 dl milk
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 100 g cheese (e.g. Emmental or Gouda), grated
- Butter (for greasing the dish)
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
3. Layer half of the potato slices in the dish.
4. In a bowl, mix the cream, milk, crushed garlic, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Pour half of this mixture over the potatoes.
5. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
6. Add the remaining potato slices into the dish and pour the rest of the cream mixture over them.
7. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes.
8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
