Creamy potato dish perfect for weekend meals or special occasions. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4-6 people
Ingredients:
- 800 g potatoes
- 3 dl heavy cream
- 2 dl milk
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 100 g cheese (e.g., Emmental or Cheddar)
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme (or 1 tsp dried)
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
2. Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves.
3. In a bowl, mix together the cream, milk, salt, black pepper, nutmeg, and garlic.
4. Grease a baking dish and layer the potato slices and thyme in the dish.
5. Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes.
6. Grate the cheese and sprinkle it on top.
7. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes.
8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
