Ingredients

- 1 kg fresh herring
- 2 dl rye breadcrumbs
- Salt
- Allspice
- Black pepper
- Dill sprigs
- Butter for frying

Instructions

1. Clean and rinse the herring thoroughly. Pat them dry with paper towels.
2. In a plastic bag, combine rye breadcrumbs, salt, allspice, and black pepper. Mix well.
3. Add the herring to the plastic bag and shake until they are evenly coated with the breadcrumb mixture.
4. Heat butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the herring until golden brown on both sides.
5. Add dill sprigs to the pan for flavor while cooking.
6. Serve the herring beautifully arranged, garnished with fresh dill.
