Ingredients:
- 250 g pasta (e.g., penne or spaghetti)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
- 400 g canned tomatoes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 50 g Parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water. Drain and reserve some pasta water.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chili flakes, sautéing for a minute.
3. Add the canned tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
4. Stir the cooked pasta into the sauce. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
5. Remove the skillet from heat and mix in the chopped basil.
6. Serve the pasta topped with grated Parmesan cheese and enjoy the Italian ambiance!
