A deliciously tangy and spicy jam made with tomatoes, bell peppers, and chili. Perfect for spreading on bread or as a condiment. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: Makes about 4-5 jars
Ingredients:
- 2 cans peeled tomatoes in juice (400 g each)
- 400 g red bell peppers
- 8 cloves garlic
- 5 red chilies
- 1 jar jam sugar
- 0.5 dl vinegar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp oregano
Instructions:
1. Pour the canned tomatoes with their juice into a pot. Optionally, cut the tomatoes into quarters with scissors.
2. Halve the washed red bell peppers, remove the seeds, and chop them into small pieces.
3. Add the chopped red bell peppers, crushed garlic, halved chilies, jam sugar, vinegar, salt, black pepper, and oregano to the pot.
4. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stir well, and let it simmer on low heat for about 30-40 minutes until it thickens.
5. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt or vinegar if needed.
6. Pour the jam into clean jars and seal tightly. Allow to cool before storing.
