A delicious, creamy pasta dish with smoky herring and sweet apple. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 800 g smoked herring (about 400 g cleaned)
- 3 tbsp butter or oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp curry powder
- 1 apple (diced)
- 1 dl cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pasta (such as spaghetti or penne)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat butter or oil in a pan over medium heat.
3. Add the smoked herring to the pan and sauté for about 5 minutes until heated through.
4. Stir in the brown sugar, curry powder, and diced apple. Cook for a few more minutes until the apples soften.
5. Pour in the cream and mix well. Season with salt and pepper.
6. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for a few minutes to blend the flavors.
7. Toss the sauce with the cooked pasta and serve immediately.
