Ingredients:
- 400 g ziti pasta - 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 200 g ricotta cheese
- 150 g mozzarella cheese, grated
- 50 g parmesan cheese, grated
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions:
1. Cook the ziti pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until soft.
3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, sugar, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Let simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
5. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce and add the ricotta cheese. Mix well to coat the pasta.
6. Transfer the pasta to a baking dish and sprinkle with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
7. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (400 °F) for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
