A delicious apple jam infused with fresh ginger and optional lingonberry juice, perfect as a filling for pastries or as a breakfast accompaniment. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: About 1 liter
Ingredients:
- 2 - 3 tbsp finely chopped fresh ginger
- ½ dl unsweetened lingonberry juice (optional)
- 1 liter peeled, chopped tart apples
- 2 - 3 dl (jam sugar)
Instructions:
1. In a pot, combine lingonberry juice or water, chopped apples, and finely chopped ginger.
2. Gently stir the ingredients and simmer on low heat for about ten minutes until the apples soften.
3. Add the jam sugar, mix well, and cook for another 10-15 minutes until the jam thickens.
4. Pour the hot jam into clean jars and seal the lids tightly.
